Struggling to forgive yourself after trauma? If shame, guilt, and intrusive thoughts about your past keep pulling you back down even as you grow closer to God then this episode is for you. Lets gets real and personal about the flashbacks I still fights: not just the things done to her, but the choices she's made and had to make peace with. She shares how trauma can send us spiraling, why the enemy weaponizes your past right when you're getting free, and the honest difference between guilt, shame, and true repentance. Most of all, she walks through the real, practical tools that helped her learn to say five life-changing words: "That's not me anymore." If you've ever felt too far gone for God's forgiveness come sit with this one. On this show, redemption gets loud. In this episode: Why trauma leads to a spiral of choices we regret — and how to break it How the enemy uses your past to keep you from turning it over to God The difference between guilt, shame, and repentance (and why it matters) How to actually accept God's forgiveness when you can't forgive yourself Practical ways to take intrusive thoughts captive and retrain your mind 📖 All the Scripture referenced is in the show notes below — grab it and sit with it this week. Psalm 32 — the sickness of hiding; healing when confession begins Revelation 12:10 — the enemy as "the accuser" 2 Corinthians 7:10 — godly sorrow vs. worldly sorrow Romans 8:1 — "no condemnation" for those in Christ Hebrews 6:1, 10 — repentance as foundation; God won't forget your work and love 2 Corinthians 10:5 — taking every thought captive Psalm 106:28 — yoking ourselves to the wrong thing Matthew 11:29–30 — Christ's easy yoke, light burden Psalm 105:16–21 — Joseph: pit, prison, and God lifting him Psalm 37:24 — "though he fall, he will not be utterly cast down"
The best mom advice I ever got came from a man who never had kids — Paul, in 1 Thessalonians. This one isn't a list of things you're doing wrong. It's a long, slow look at how Paul loved and raised up a brand-new church he only got a few weeks with before he was torn away — and everything motherhood can learn from his example. We walk through being the same person in every room ("as was his custom"), the ordinary women whose faith bent whole generations, giving your kids your actual life instead of a lesson plan, meeting each child one at a time, the way they catch it just by being near you, refusing to panic when the hard shows up, praying night and day like it's the main move instead of the last one, and being humble enough to send help when you can't be everywhere. And remember when we talked about raising Timothys? Here's the payoff — the Timothy a tired, faithful mama raised in a regular house becomes the very one God sends out to hold up a whole church. Scriptures: 1 Thessalonians 1:2, 1:5–6, 2:7–8, 2:11, 2:17–18, 3:2–3, 3:6, 3:10; 2 Timothy 1:5 (Lois & Eunice); and the backstory in Acts 17:1–4 — "as was his custom" and the leading women who believed. Have you read every self help book, tried every strategy, and you are still carrying the same thing you have been carrying for years? Have you wondered if the trauma, the addiction, the generational patterns that run through your family are just too deep for even God to reach? Have you been praying but not seeing anything change and quietly starting to wonder if it is ever going to? Friend. The tools you have been handed were never built for what you are carrying. Self help can name your pain. Only God can actually heal it. Today we go deep into 2 Chronicles 20, Psalm 51, and 1 Samuel 15 and unpack what the Bible actually says about the battles you did not choose, the ones you walked into yourself, and how God moves in both. We talk about what it actually takes to break a generational cycle, why accountability and grace are not opposites, and the real practical tools for rewiring a heart and a brain that have been through something hard. This is not a quick fix. This is the truth. And the truth is the only thing that actually sets you free. "The battle is not yours but God's." 2 Chronicles 20:15 Stay covered, stay loud, and never stop letting God rewrite your story.
Are you in a season right now where no matter how hard you try you cannot seem to catch up? Are you carrying the weight of mistakes you made that you cannot undo? Have you been wondering if the years you wasted or the things you lost are just gone forever? I have been there. In the middle of it I opened my Bible and God showed me something that changed everything about how I understood hard seasons. Today we are going deep into the Word together. Not just a quick verse and a nice thought. We are doing a real Bible study into what God actually says about restoration, redemption, and the seasons that feel too far gone to recover from. We are going to sit in Psalm 23, Joel 2:25, and Psalm 126 and unpack what the original Hebrew actually means because there is so much more there than the English translation shows us. This episode is for anyone in a hard season. You do not have to be a homesteader. You do not have to have it together. You just have to show up. The locust years are not wasted. The weeping farmer still brings in the harvest. And God is not finished with your story yet. "Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy." Psalm 126:5

Are you curious about raising meat birds but convinced that butcher day is where your homesteading journey stops? Have you been telling yourself you are just not built for that part of the process? Friend, I said every single one of those things. I used to stand at the fence watching Ryan do the whole thing while I gripped that fence post and swore I would never lay a hand on a single bird. I now do ninety percent of our processing on my own. In this episode I am walking you through the real story of how that happened, the exact equipment you need before processing day, a step by step breakdown of the full process in plain practical language, the emotional side nobody talks about, and what I would tell the version of me standing at that fence. Everything we personally use on processing day is linked on my Amazon storefront. You can do this. Let me show you how. Are you afraid of spending money on the wrong things before you even know what you are doing? Have you been waiting for the perfect budget before you take a single step toward this dream? Friend, the problem was never the money. It was the absence of a plan. And that is exactly what we are talking about today. In this episode I am walking you through what we learned after spending too much in the wrong places so you do not have to make the same mistakes. We cover how to take stock of what you already have before you spend a single dollar, the exact three things worth investing in from the very beginning, the three things most beginners waste money on every single time, and the phased homestead approach that will save you more than anything else I share today. Plus the most expensive mistake of all that has nothing to do with money. You do not need a perfect budget to start. You need the next step. Let's find yours. Are you sitting on a pile of seeds and a head full of Pinterest pins with absolutely nothing in the ground yet? Have you planted before only to watch things quietly fail and have no idea why? Friend, it is not a lack of effort and it is not a lack of information. It is a lack of a plan built specifically for YOU, your yard, your soil, your season, and your goals. In this episode I am walking you through the five things every beginner homesteader needs to understand about companion planting and why knowing the facts is not the same as having a real strategy for your actual garden. We are talking about the three plant friendships that will change what you harvest this year, why most beginner gardens are planned like a grocery list instead of a neighborhood, how your soil is keeping secrets right now and how to start unlocking them, and the lesson I learned the hard way when I planted fennel right next to my tomatoes and watched them give up completely. You are not behind, friend. You just need a plan. Let's build it. RESOURCES MENTIONED 📞 Book a Homestead Consult Call | Tori Gass torigass.com/checkout-consult One hour, your homestead, your goals. Does your homestead feel like it is taking forever and nothing is actually breaking through yet? Are you close to quitting something you know deep down you were called to? Friend, this episode is for you. I am sharing the story of the year Ryan and I spent trying to get our greenhouse water system working — the leaks, the failed fittings, the afternoon I soaked myself completely from head to toe — and what God used that very ordinary, very frustrating season to show me about faithfulness, calling, and what it means to keep marching before the walls fall. We are going to Psalm 73 and to Jericho, and I am sharing 5 things God sees when your homestead dream is taking longer than you thought it would. 📌 In this episode: Why it is okay that your heart has been grieved — what Psalm 73:21 says about honest wobbling Why God was with you the whole time even when it did not feel like it How your calling itself is your confirmation and hard seasons are not disqualifications Why faithfulness looks ordinary from the outside — the Jericho principle Why you were never meant to do this alone and what to do about it right now If this episode encouraged you today, would you send it to one friend who needs to hear it?
