Hello Makkaley,In the fourth episode of this season, we have Ram Murali as our guest, and this is his maiden episode. Ram and I discuss one of Vijayakanth's lesser-known movies, directed by Bharathiraja, Thamizhchelvan. Vijayakanth plays an Honest IAS officer, and this movie is different because we won't see the usual Captain's antics, stunts, or the Punch dialogues, but a subtle Captain, which is different from most of his on-screen and off-screen personas. Link to the Movie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cM5ctTvywQDo listen to this episode and share your feedback. Until next time, ciao :)
Hello Makkaley,In the Third episode of the season, Praveen and I discussed Vijayakanth movies where he was part of the system, be it a Police Officer, IPS, IFS, or even Marine Officer for that matter, and how he created a name for himself and rose to become Tamil Cinema-win Captain. We also discussed many other things in this episode, apart from Captain. I hope you enjoy listening as much as we did recording it. Until next time, Ciao :)
Hello, makkaley, In the second episode of the series, we came up with a list of movies where Vijayakanth played an Angry Young Man and many aspects that cemented Vijayakanth in movies and real life. The four movies that we discussed in this Podcast were Dhoorathu Idi Muzhakkam and Sivappu Malli. In this episode, we had Praveen and Gopal (Our Podcast regular), who shared a lot of insights. Do check it out when you find time. Until the next episode, Ciao :)
Hello, makkale, Finally, the first episode of Season 5 is out, and I hope you enjoy listening to the episode as much as we loved talking. In this episode, we talked about so many things about Vijayakanth and his contemporaries, like Superstar Rajnikanth and Kamal, and the choices of movies all did. Rejections faced by Captain, the number of directors he introduced, his reach in the rural areas, and whatnot. I hope it was interesting for you and not overwhelming! Until the next episode, Ciao :)
Vijayakanth, one of the iconic Tamil stars from yesteryear, rose to fame and became known for his rivalry with the likes of Superstar Rajnikanth. He garnered a loyal fanbase, particularly in the rural parts of the state. I’ve been working on bringing this Season out for a long time, but for various reasons, I couldn't publish it while he was alive. This series serves as a tribute to the Captain and shows our love for him and the great person he was. New episodes will be released every fortnight, and the first episode in the series will be published tomorrow at 6:30 PM. Until then, Ciao :)
