In this message from John 6:51-59, titled "The Living Bread," we continue our study in the Gospel of John. Jesus calls himself the living bread, the bread He will give for the life of the world is his own flesh. The crowd disputes among themselves, and their confusion only reveals the deeper problem: hearts that are hard and sight that is darkened. We learn here what Jesus really means when he calls us to eat his flesh and drink his blood, why this is all about faith in Christ crucified, and why so many spend their whole lives eating sawdust when the living bread is right in front of them. In this message from John 6:41-50, titled "Blind Unbelief," we continue our study in the Gospel of John. Jesus has declared Himself the bread of life, but rather than believing, the crowd grumbles. They think they know exactly who Jesus is, and that's precisely the problem. We'll see why their disbelief is never just intellectual, what it means that the Father must draw a person to Christ, and why the call to repent and believe is both real and urgent. Last Sunday we continued our study through the Gospel of John, picking up in John 6:34-40. The crowd that witnessed the feeding of the five thousand is still missing it, still thinking Jesus is talking about bread for their stomachs. And Jesus doesn't back down or soften the message. He says plainly, "I am the bread of life." Not "I give" the bread of life, I am the bread of life. The invitation Jesus gave that day is still standing: come to me, be accepted, be kept, be raised. Last Sunday we picked up where we left off in John 6. The same crowd that watched Jesus feed over five thousand people came back the next day, and asked Him for a sign. If that doesn't stop you in your tracks, it should. We looked at what Jesus said to them in verses 30 through 33, and what it reveals about the human heart, about the manna in the wilderness, and about who Jesus really is. The bread of God is not a what. It's a He. Last Sunday we focused on John 6 verses 28 and 29. The crowd had just experienced the feeding of the five thousand, they'd tracked Jesus down on the other side of the sea, and their question was essentially the same one most people ask today, what do we have to do to be right with God? The problem is, that's the wrong question entirely. Jesus makes it clear that the answer isn't found in doing anything, it's found in believing in the One whom the Father has sent. Why are you here today? That's the question Jesus put to the crowd that tracked him down in Capernaum the day after he fed the five thousand. They'd crossed the sea to find him, but Jesus knew exactly why. Not because they believed in him, but because they ate their fill. In this sermon from John 6:22–27, we take a hard look at the motives behind our pursuit of Jesus, and we hear his call to stop laboring for the food that perishes and start laboring for the food that endures to eternal life. Give it a listen and let God's Word challenge you to examine where your affections truly are. Also on YouTube:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nz4K7jUVYYoSunday, April 26, 2026Pastor Kevin PierpontCalvary Church, Webberville, Michiganhttps://calvarychurch.xyz
Would you bow down? That's the question Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego faced when Nebuchadnezzar's music played. Everybody else did. But these three men stood firm — even with a blazing furnace staring them down. R.L Clinton brought an important message from Daniel 3 last Sunday, and it's one that hits close to home. Persecution isn't coming, it's already here, and it's growing. Listen or watch and be challenged and encouraged by the faith of three men who refused to compromise, and by the God who met them in the fire. Also on YouTube:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ivVJ_PhDdESunday, April 19, 2026R.L. How strong is your faith in Jesus right now? On a scale of 1 to 10, where are you? The honest answer usually surfaces in the middle of a storm, a life storm. In this sermon we looked John 6 and Jesus walking on water. The disciples had just witnessed the feeding of the 5000. They'd seen it with their own eyes. And still their faith was weak. Sound familiar? Jesus knew what they needed most, and He sent them straight into a storm to get it. Listen to or watch this sermon and hear Jesus speak to you right where you are, "It is I; do not be afraid."Also on YouTube:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=esBTHm0iSnkSunday, April 12, 2026Pastor Kevin PierpontCalvary Church, Webberville, Michiganhttps://calvarychurch.xyz
