On August 8th 2024, the Queer Heritage Initiative of New Brunswick held an event "BIPOC+ Queer New Brunswick Perspectives" in partnership with Blacklantic and Saint John Pride. The panel was hosted by Hillary LeBlanc of Blacklantic and panelists Victor Escobedo, Todd Ross and Normand Hector discussed their lived experiences of being members of the BIPOC+ Community in New Brunswick, recognition of survivors of the LGBT Purge and being part of the 2SLGBTQ+ newcomer community.
