Hearing the voice of God is a gift offered to all of God's children. John 10:3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leaders them out. Jesus makes a distinction in referencing “ his own sheep,” multiple times within this verse. Clearly annotating there is a group of people who belong to God and those who chose not to embrace in HIs love. The choice belongs to us. As we make the declaration to answer the call of God, we experience the love of a Shepherd. He calls us each by name. He knows our quirks, strengths, and weaknesses and still signals for us to participate in His blessing. God has precisely prepared every detail of our lives and yearns to reveal it to “His own.” Belonging to God gives us access to every spiritual blessing. God knows who “His own,” are, those who hear His voice. Hearing from God spiritual and it breeds obedience. To hear by definition means to become aware of information; discover and find out; to see. Wow, we are to discover the information God is revealing to us and are then able to see the plans of Heaven as we listen to the familiar vibration of the tone of God’s sweet voice. God doesn’t waste His power. When He is speaking it adds value to our lives. It is beneficial for us to fine-tune our hearing. Then God can lead us out. He is leading us on a path He has already traveled. God will only instruct and encourage us on the road to victory. Failure to follow God is literally self-sabotage. As God’s children, we have the ability to be as close to God as we desire.
