This week on the @about_violence Podcast, we are joined by Co-Hosts Chantry Coker & Travis Joyner @the_real_gray_man . Chantry Coker served in the US Navy for 4 years before being honorably discharged. After the Navy he spent 8 years working in Fire and EMS. He then became a police officer and has been a police officer for 7 years and am currently assigned to the full time SWAT team. Chantry is also a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Travis Joyner (@the_real_gray_man) is an experienced law enforcement officer, professional MMA fighter, and expert in defensive tactics for police officers. Travis is a native Texan who has been studying martial arts since childhood. Travis holds rank in several martial arts and is a third-degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Travis has been competing as an adult since 2004, and has competed successfully in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, No-Gi grappling, Freestyle Sambo and has fought professionally in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). Travis has over 15 years of experience police in a large city. During that time, Travis has worked patrol, plain clothes investigations, undercover work, and active shooter response. Travis is a full-time defensive tactics and firearms instructor who has been teaching martial arts for over 15 years.
