Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode!Great news music fans: not only are Chris and David back with more great songs, but they have a new guest accompanying them! Joining them for this outing is a mate of David's from the comedy circuit: it's acclaimed comedian and writer Lizzy Lenco! In this episode, Lizzy introduces the boys to something that has been a part of her own life: the concept of 'torch songs'. These are pieces of music that are used to try and bring people out of their darkest moments and back to a better place, whether that's playing them to someone in a coma, using them to help people with brain injuries or dementia, someone listening when they are suffering from depression, or something else entirely. Torch songs are testament to the power that music really wields.Everyone has chosen examples of tracks they could consider to be personal torch songs and these range from acts such as The Sisters of Mercy, Slash and Primal Scream to many others, including a very obscure band called V8 Pack! There's also an anecdote about attacking Jason Momoa, which apparently was accidental......On a serious note, please do look out for each other and take care of yourselves. We hope our show has been able to bring you some kind of joy but if you are ever in need of help, please talk to someone. It might sound like a cliché, but that's because it works. Remember, there's always someone who's willing to listen and you deserve the best.Follow us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61584972944086COPYRIGHT DISCLAIMERWe do not own any of the music featured, all rights are those of the respective owners. Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode!Welcome music fans! Not only do Chris and David have some more fantastic tunes to share with you, but they are joined by a brand new guest! This man is a comedy promoter who gave David his first ever stand-up gig (for better or worse) as well as a huge music fan, DJ and very regular concert-goer: it's Nottingham-based entertainer Mike Bottomley A.K.A. Spiky Mike! This show is also guaranteed to bring you some stellar song choices because the guys have picked songs from what they consider to be non-skip albums. Amongst the offerings on display are ones from Sex Pistols, Boston, The Prodigy and The Flaming Lips!Oh, and the episode title doesn't refer to anyone featured, honestly.Follow us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61584972944086Funhouse Comedy gigs can be found here: https://funhousecomedy.co.uk/COPYRIGHT DISCLAIMERWe do not own any of the music featured, all rights are those of the respective owners. Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode! It's no expenses spared whatsoever this time! Chris and David are throwing all cares for expenses and costs out the window with no expert guidance whatsoever. Martin Lewis would be (potentially) delighted because today's episode is all about..........money!Sadly, there's no sign of ABBA here. Instead, this is a showcase of great tunes by Placebo, Simply Red, The Reytons and more! What's more, the boys managed the whole recording without ranting for too long about the downsides of capitalism! They really tried their best.NOTE: We would like to say that at time of recording, we were unaware of the allegations against 2 members of COIN which led to the group's disbandment in 2025Follow us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61584972944086COPYRIGHT DISCLAIMERWe do not own any of the music featured, all rights are those of the respective owners.
