He is a director and cofounder of IQC, a Brazilian NGO dedicated to promoting science-based public policies, critical thinking, and scientific skepticism. Carlos is the chief editor of Revista Questão de Ciência, and his writing has also appeared in The Skeptical Inquirer and The Skeptic (UK).
