Operation Phantom Fury — known in Arabic as Al-Fajr, "The Dawn" — was the largest urban assault conducted by American forces since Vietnam. The Marines, soldiers, sailors, and Special Operations forces who crossed into Fallujah on November 7, 2004 knew exactly what they were walking into. They walked in anyway.
